Grandma's Bakery was born of the desire to showcase the rich culinary heritage of the English-speaking community of the Îles-de-la-Madeleine (Magdalen Islands).
Grandma's Bakery is an expression of the traditional culinary skills of the English-speaking community of Grosse-Île. The bakery embodies the idea of returning to Grandma's kitchen, where one feels surrounded by the love, warmth and delicious aromas of the kitchen. It's where women transmit the strong culinary identity of the region through their products.
This cuisine is characterized as being generous and comforting. British-inspired, but influenced by the insularity of the region and the local environment, it is composed of products from the sea, from the hunt and from the field, all prepared in a simple and resourceful way. Authentic, this culinary tradition is inspired by many traditional recipes that have been part of the community for years and are often passed down from mother to daughter.

Grandma's Bakery is known for its delicious breads and fresh baked pastries. Its signature items are cinnamon buns, white cookies, brioche and white breads, croissants and marshmallow squares. The bakery’s store also features a wide array of preserves, jams, jellies, chutneys, relishes and prepared dishes such as fish cakes, clam chowder and lobster rolls. These would make tasty snacks to be savoured just around the corner where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the sea.
