It all started in 1868 with Theodor Olsen. Bergen was first and foremost a silver producing city, and at that time there were as many silversmiths as in the rest of the country. After Theodor Olsen's death in 1890, the silver workshop and store were sold to the brothers Magnus and Knut Aase, who continued the business under the name Theodor Olsen.
Since then, the Aase family has run the business for many generations. For a century and a half, Theodor Olsen Sølvvareverksted has been one of Norway's leading silver manufacturers. Theodor Olsen's legacy is an ever-growing collection of silver — a valuable cultural treasure. Today, machines that are over 100 years old work side by side with modern technology and innovative thinking artisans to create beautiful products that inspire and excite.
