Healing at the Source was founded in 2007 by Noëlla Somerville. The Quebec native arrived in Alberta in 2000 and fell in love with the region, deciding to settle there. It was also in Alberta that she discovered her passion for crafts. She began taking professional arts courses in wood and stone carving, painting and leatherwork.
In 2012, she was introduced to the art of stained glass by her husband, who had just been commissioned to create 16 stained glass windows for the church in Janvier, located in northern Alberta. Since then, she has mastered the art form.
Noëlla Somerville is inspired by nature in the practice of her art. Her approach is particularly oriented towards indigenous culture, which is evident in her use of vivid colours and patterns.
