It was in 2016, nine months after acquiring their land in Clermont, that Geneviève Tremblay and Renald Lepage decided to grow the world's oldest, most sought-after and counterfeited spice known as red gold: saffron pistils.
Their land boasts two fields of exceptional soil quality! A category A1 soil that exists in Quebec only in the Charlevoix-Est MRC. They had an unsuspected love of agriculture, and this marvellous idea was the start of a great adventure that would lead to a host of motivating, innovative and inspiring projects!
So precious, the Red Gold of New France is available from them in the real world, transformed to honor its splendor and unique taste.
All season long, enjoy a unique and instructive experience! Guided tours of the facilities are available for small organized groups, families or friends. A 60-minute tour will tell you all about the cultivation of the world's oldest spice, its importance, history, benefits and processing. The precious saffron that has been enhancing flavors, tastes and aromas for millennia! A visit to the boutique is also an opportunity to discover the many products on offer.
