The art of making glass objects has its origins in Mesoptamia, Egypt and Phoenicia. Storsjöhyttan was founded in 1995 and is run by glassblowers Ulla Gustafsson and Nilla Eneroth. Both are professionally trained glassblowers at the Orrefors Glass School. All the company's products are made using traditional craft methods in the glass cabin located in the old power station at Östersund marina.
Meet these two passionate glassblowers who will share their history and knowledge of glass with you. You can also discover how a glass object is made through a fascinating technique based on traditional know-how.
Storsjöhyttan's production is large and varied. It consists of both functional and art glass—there is something to please every visitor!
