Heather McFadden studied 3D design at the Belfast School of Art and specialized in silversmithing after graduation. She continued her studies in Kilkenny and Copenhagen before establishing a successful silversmithing business in Newtownards. During a career break to raise a family, Heather began teaching silversmithing at what is now Belfast Metropolitan College and, over time, diversified into a range of other trades. Passionate and creative, Heather will show you her world. In addition to the traditional workshops, bespoke courses can easily be arranged on request, for those wishing to learn a new technique, perfect their skills or make an original item of jewellery such as earrings, chains or bracelets.
The experience
Visit the workshop led by Heather. No previous experience is required to learn the jewellery making process, allowing you to make your own silver jewellery to take home.
The products
Once you have finished your workshop, take your time to look at the wide range of jewellery Heather has made. If something catches your eye, you might just be going home with a souvenir!
