La Maison du Potier is a close-knit team of experienced artisans. There is Géraldine Cyr, the practical and creative potter who founded La Maison du Potier in 1990. For the past 35 years, this potter has been making a wide range of hand-turned pieces deploying her know-how through tasks that no longer hold any secrets for her.
She is assisted in her work by Bernard Langford, who masters to perfection the art of turning and shaping the clay into the desired form. Finally, Nancy Cyr, the patient and meticulous painter, adds the finishing touches to the pieces with her skilled hands.
You will be able to talk with these passionate artisans and watch them in action in a warm and friendly atmosphere that reflects the legendary hospitality of the Magdalen Islands. A pottery painting workshop is also offered. A great opportunity to bring back a unique souvenir in your luggage!
Cups, bowls, pots, casseroles and other hand-made and hand-painted items and accessories line the shelves of the Maison du Potier boutique. Straight from the workshop, these unique, functional and durable products recall the enchanting setting of the Magdalen Islands through their design and colours. And, for practicality's sake, all the pieces are oven and dishwasher safe.
