The L'Orpailleur vineyard owes its success to the vision and determination of four adventurers, who founded and still own this mecca of Québec viticulture. Their conviction and savoir-faire, combined with their creativity, determination and love of the craft, have guided Charles-Henri de Coussergues, Hervé Durand, Pierre Rodrigue and Frank Furtado to build the renowned winery we know today.
The road to success has not been easy. Overcoming the rigours of Québec winters, developing innovative vineyard cultivation methods and working to change legislation governing the winemaking sector are just a few of the battles fought by the four originators of the Brome-Missisquoi Wine Trail.
Another aspect that sets L'Orpailleur apart is its educational mission, which has been in place since the beginning. Educating the public about local products, democratizing viticulture and encouraging interaction with clients are at the heart of its values.
Guided and self-guided tours, a wine trail, an interpretation course covering various themes, such as Quebec viticulture, grape growing, the wine-making process, different grape varietals, and climatic challenges, as well as a tasting session are held in an enchanting setting and a welcoming atmosphere.
White wines, red wines, rosé wines, ice wines and sparkling wines, l'Orpailleur offers a wide range of products to please every wine enthusiast. Many of these have won gold and silver medals in both national and international competitions. The shop, featuring a unique circular counter, invites you to experience an exciting and enjoyable tasting experience.
